Upon approval of Information Industry Ministry, the two 2D bar code of Compact Matrix Code (C code), Grid Matrix Code (G code) from Wuhan Syscan has formally become the national electronic industry standard, fills up the gap of China independent intellectual property rights 2D bar code standards.
When announcing the information in Beijing to the national media, the principal of Wuhan Syscan Zhang Weiru takes a great load off his mind. For 6 years effort and input of several dozen million yuan at last do not go to waste, hence the 2D bar code industry in China has its own core technology. Relying on its own innovation ability, the Chinese successfully blocks the deep pushing of foreign bar code technology.
2D bar code is an optical image-reading-based coding technology, the technology involves in optical, machines, electricity and printing, information security, marking and other technology, which is currently one of the most widely-used information technology globally.
Over the years, the domestic 2D bar code standards are derived from foreign technology; such as PDF417 codes of the United States and QR code of Japan etc. The core technologies are available only in the hands of foreign firms, our country can only buy the associated reading equipment in high price, and the usage cost is high.
Experts point out that some transnational companies are using the standard penetration to conduct industry control over our country. The complex patent authorization problems are usually hidden in foreign standard using, or even it will face with the patent infringement accusation, the potential risk is becoming real threat. The developed countries such as England and France discard one after another the ready-made international standard, and use the 2D bar code standard independently researched by its own country so as to ensure the information and economic safety of the country.
As the birthplace of the first 2D bar code standard of our country, the province is determined as the national bar code industry development base by the Ministry of Information Industry, and it is beginning to set about to exploit the broad market space of 2D bar code application.
