Nov 4, 2006, the Computer and Software Professional Qualification (Certificates) Examination of Hubei Province for the second half of 2006 was hold in Huazhong University of Science and Technology on schedule, when entering the examination rooms, the examinees found something new at the entry, just after they swipe the 2D barcode exam admission permits on the card readers at the entry and the staff check them on the computer display, they will be admitted, the whole process takes less than 3 seconds.

This is the 2D barcode exam admission permit administration system developed by Syscan Technology.

This system is an informatized exam administration system based on Syscan Technology??s 2D barcode CM code and GM??U code technologies. Syscan Technology has developed this system for the Software Certificates Examination of Hubei Province as required by the Information Industry Department of Hubei Province and the Software Examination Office of Hubei Province.

First, we've changed the traditional paper permit into 2D barcode card permit, whose core technologies lie in the 2D barcode on the card, a 2D barcode of 80mm x 19mm can record data of about 3k to 4k, containing all information on the exam admission permit of a examinee, including some text information and the photo and the examinee, which cannot be achieved by any other 2D barcode. Besides, Syscan CM code adopts strong encryption technology, giving no chance for any law breakers to counterfeit. When entering the examination room with this kind of admission permit, an examinee need only to swipe it on the card reader, and all the information on the card will be shown on the display, including text information and photos.

During the examination, the supervisor can carry out sampling inspection on the examinees with an off-line CS200 card reader, all information of the inspection will be stored on the flash card connected with the CS200. After the examination, all information of all examinees as well as of the sampling inspection will be stored in the system server after coordination for future reference.

Upon the publication of the examination result, examinees can conveniently check their results with the GM-U code on the admission permits, they only needs to download the software (totally free) with their cell phones, and then point the camera at the GM-U code at the back of the admission permit, they can access the designated WAP site, where all results are clear at a glance.
