1. Preface
Over the recent years, with continuous development of urban transport, taxis have been continuously increased, which brings much convenience to people outgoing. But due to large driving area and bad security performance of taxis, illegal persons select taxis as their criminal targets, often creating robs or kills of taxi drivers; this threatens social security and lives and property of the people.
In consideration that taxi robs happen mostly in out-of-way areas or suburban areas, we can effectively prevent criminals and secure taxis and passengers by setting outgoing registration stations in the exits of cities. In case important things happen, the stations can also play a role of obstruction.
2. Solution
FS531 ID Card Automatic Input System is based on requirements in urban taxi management, and if used for personnel registration at taxi outgoing registration stations, will significantly promote the efficiency of taxi outgoing management, make convenience to taxi drivers and passengers, and contribute to eliminate taxi robs and secure taxi drivers and passengers.
System composition
The system composites of a road video camera, a scanner special for FS531 ID Card system, a passenger video camera, a video camera inside the registration statement, and a multimedia computer receiving information from the traffic management and commanding center.
System principle is presented in Fig 1.
3. Statement on system functions
When taxis arrive in registration stations and park in the appointed positions, road video camera will take video for the taxis and the registration stations. After drivers and passengers alight to windows of the registration stations, passengers pass ID cards to operators, and operators put the cards into FS531 ID Card scanners, which will input the cards of passengers, meanwhile, passenger video camera will record faces of passengers, and the video camera inside the station will record images of drivers and passengers. Such four lines of images are concurrently displayed in the monitor. After operators input taxi number, the system starts video taking along the four lines and then waits for the next taxi number. All these operations can be completed within 10 seconds, simplifying outgoing registration procedures while securing reliability, effectiveness and safety.
In case of any taxi rob accidents, the system can input the involved taxi number for quick search on the outgoing date and time of the taxi, as well as face video and ID card image of passengers taking the taxi. The system can concurrently play the four lines of images recorded when the taxi exits the city, or check the video materials for all the taxis outgoing in the involved period, then submit to the public security department as detailed video evidence.
Commanding center of the public security department will set a multimedia computer, connected with various registration stations through modem so as to view the work situations there or traffic jams, if any.
