Compact Matrix Code (CM)

The objective for designing CM 2D barcode is to improve the storage capacity and data density and reduce the cost for software and hardware in the system, including the cost for printing and reading equipment. Most of 2D barcode readers adopt non-contact CCD or CMOS sensor to obtain image, which can easily cause uneven lightness, improper intensity of illumination, perspective distortion, objective deviation, objective defocus and fluttering and those finally limit the storage capacity for 2D barcode.

SYSCAN CM 2D barcode readers adopt CIS (Contact Image Sensor) technique with complete intellectual property, as well as CIS 1:1 imaging formation, combining with the techniques of sprocket hole positioning and graphic sectioning so as to perform fast and accurate positioning, adjusting image and finally realizing real-time decoding via the image identification algorism. Moreover, SYSCAN CM 2D barcode is the 1st matrix 2D barcode in the world which can be read by 1D line sensor but never equipped with homogeneous displacement device.

"CM" is short for Compact Matrix. The code graph adopts sprocket hole positioning and graphic sectioning techniques to perform fast and accurate identification and handling of 2D barcode graph by analyzing the information of sprocket position and graphic section, which not only decreases the resource demands on hardware for image processing, but also largely reduces the cost of equipment. The main features of CM include high capacity, high density, high reliability, strong expansion capacity and low cost.
